Cape Town has been under tremendous stress for using tap water for almost six months now. The reservoir from which the city of 40 million people gets water looked like this in 2014. What Exactly is Maldives Emergency 2018

Maldives declared a 15- day state of emergency  Why?? Maldives president Mohd. Yameen came into power in 2013 after defeating previous president Mohammad Nasheed . Since his presidency began, he has been jailing almost all the political leaders of oppositions. Previous president was also arrested in 2015 on the charges of terrorism and was jailed for 13 years after which he was sent to Sri Lanka on exile. Supreme Court of Maldives last week ordered to release all the political prisoners   including the previous president. Releasing all the political prisoners will result in filling all the parliament's sacked seats which will ultimately lead to problems for current ruling party. Seeing all this the president declared the state of emergency on 04-February-2018 .
